Yes we CAN!

How many of you have ever said, "I can't do that, oh and that's too hard?!" Well, I sure have, I would like to know who hasn't!? And if one of you haven't, then write me a comment so I can see who you are and how you really do it! :) But have we ever thought that we are actually lying to ourselves? We CAN do everything, but there is a catch to it....

WE CAN DO EVERYTHING THROUGH CHRIST!

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

Then why is it that we say this? Well, we allow fear to come into our minds and to deceive us with saying, "No you are right, I can't do that!" Have any of you ever seen this definition of 'fear'
F-False
E-Evidence
A-Appearing
R-Real

So the next time a thought of fear come in, or you are just feeling insecure with whatever you are trying to do, remember "You can do all things through Christ!" With Christ all things are possible!

Meditation/Memorization

Hello my friends!

Have you ever, ever, had a nasty wicked thought appear in your mind? Is it one of those thoughts where you just wish it weren't there? Do you ever regret your pastime foolishness? Do you feel that you can never again live right because of that one incident? Or because you are having such a tough time with your purity, or thoughts? I have actually come across girls who struggle with their thoughts more than anything! Do you sometimes feel bugged down because your mind is full of the 'wrong' stuff? Now I have a question for you all. "Have you ever thought of the secret, of meditating on scripture?" I had a friend a while back ask me if I ever did this, and I just totally didn't think much about so I disregarded it. I had NO clue what she was really meaning. Not until my family and I attended a seminar this past winter were my eyes opened.

I began to meditate on scripture, both day and night. It was almost as if my mind was turned from black to white! In just less than a week. Before I started meditating on scripture it would take me quite some time to fall asleep at night too. Both my thoughts and night rest were peaceful. I fall asleep in less than 5 minutes! I will sometimes awake in the middle of the night with either a hymn or a prayer to God. It's almost as if I just wake up and start praying without knowing. It's sooooooooo incredible! I feel soooooooooooo pure and clear. I get GREAT grades and it seems as if my whole day runs so much more smoother! But what isn't amazing when the Lord's doing is in it?!?

Now what do I do?! Well, I get ready for bed, turn off all the lights, and then I start saying scripture by heart. Whatever comes to my mind. I normally say about 5 verses or so, and then that's it, I'm out!

Psa. 119:97 "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day."

Psa. 119:148 "Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word."

Phil. 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Psa. 40:8 "I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart."

Psa. 77:12 "I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings."

God's Word is not always handy. When dealing with someone about their souls, we need to be able to tell them what the Bible says without trying to look it up in a Bible that may not be present. The answer is of course, having the verse tucked away in your heart through meditation/memorization.

Start memorizing scripture while you are young. Don't wait till you get older because it WILL get harder! This is what I did:

I opened my bible and was beginning to memorize. Well, it was not coming along easy. So, I decided, "I'm going to ask God what he wants me to memorize!" So I did, and sure enough I said, "Ok, I'll open up the bible and see what I come out to!" I got straight at Psalm 51. And it went easy!

Remember God's Word!!!

Perfect God!

Boy oh boy, have I been busy! Phew! I've been cleaning ALL afternoon! It sure was necessary! I had to dust since we've had the windows open lately, and vacuuming and moping was needed. So, it all adds up, I just get into it and then the time is flying by before I can stop it! Some of my family members have been painting, both this past weekend and right now! We decided to paint once we were done with school and see how far we can go. Well, it looks like they might be done tonight! YEAH!

I've been looking at a few blogs these past few days, and it's sooooooo funny how practically everyone is having pictures of flowers and saying how wonderful it is to have spring back! Seriously, it is! I'm loving it! Especially since I live up north it has been a long, long winter. I was starting to believe that the warm weather would never come! (haha) But, the Lord has been blessing us with great weather! It's practically ridiculous how some people just go over board with everything. They literally think it's summer and they're out there dressing in summer clothing! I sure ain't that crazy, but I have been without a jacket for the first time in a long time! :)

When I woke up this morning I peeked out of my window like usual, and right before my eyes I saw-this big ol' moon! My, was it beautiful or what!? It just glowed and glowed, and it reminded me of how awesome our God is. He created perfect light for us during the day and just marvelous glowing light during the night (kinda poetic there!). From the smallest atom to the largest mountain, it's all perfect! Everything which is done in the Lord's hands is just PERFECT! He is ever soooooooo awesome!

As for God, his way is perfect.........Psalm 18:30(a)

Pray...

Hey everyone, this is going to be short but, it has been on my mind for some time!

Keep this as the #1 thought whenever you hit the road, whoever is driving always remember to pray before taking off. It only takes a few minutes but it CAN make all the difference. We have friends who gave us this idea after we had a friend of ours involved in a very bad accident. My family will usually pick someone or either one of us will sometimes ask to pray. We all know how important prayer is, don't we?! So, why not include it in your daily outing!

Pray for protection!

Take it to the Lord...

This morning when I was doing my normal quiet time with God, he pointed out one specific verse to me;

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12

Many of us believe we 'might' be doing the 'right' thing in our own eyes. But hello, have we ever taken the thought and really sought out to God, and really asked him what he thinks about this and that? Have we asked him in prayer and searched him and his will? Or do we 99% of the time just think it's fine and to just leave God out of the picture and go ahead with the decision? My friends, many of us think it's the right way, but when it really comes down to the point, we NEED to take every way and every thing to the Lord in prayer. Just like that song 'What A Friend We Have In Jesus'

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

There may be times where we think it's a good idea, but the end to that can lead to harm or even worse, death! The next time there comes a situation in which you are unsure, remember to take it to the Lord in prayer and not to choose what you want. Our eyes deceive us, and will lead us to destruction. We are to live for Christ, and to have him in our daily walk!

Our dangerous tongue

Check out these 6 bible verses from James 3. They are very powerful!

5. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

7. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

8. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

I find it so annoying when I meet people, come across people, friends, or family who have a filthy tongue. I feel so awkward, and just want to hide or runaway! When people curse God it hurts my own heart, I feel this sting inside of me that just wants to go and shake the person and say, "STOP!"

We can be the sweetest thing talking to our friends, but then a second later if one of our siblings comes in and questions us about something or whatever it is, we often will turn around and answer with a filthy rude tongue. I'm not only talking about curse words, but often just the tone in our voices. The irritation tells us everything! I am very blessed to be homeschooled and not having to worry about the filthy words one speaks in a normal public school setting, with being 100% in the world. But still, that doesn't mean much, a Christian or a non-Christian can have a vocabulary of garbage, or have an irritation in their voice when they are just annoyed slightly.

My friends, our tongues can be soooooo destructive not only in speaking curse words, but just the way we say things. Either too loud and having the sound of irritation in us. We need to be very careful the way we say things and the type of daily language we choose to speak!

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 10:11

True Love

I found this beautiful video from Fernando Ortega while browsing some blogs this afternoon. It really shows the LOVE Billy Graham had for his sweetheart!

Don't forget to turn off the music on the bottom :)

Here are the lyrics to 'Give me Jesus.'

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
When I am alone, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I come to die
When I come to die
When I come to die, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

Stand 4 Christ!

Hello all my friends!

Today at church our pastor brought across a very convicting message. You could really feel the Holy Spirit resting upon the place. The message was about not to conform yourselves of this world but to live out for Christ. You will know my friends when you are truly following Christ. Many expect their walk with the Lord to be nice and peaceful, no disruptions, no hardships. Well, think twice, that isn't the case. If it is then you are not really all for CHRIST, some part of you is in the world, and the other is with Christ. My pastor brought a great example across, "Just place God in a box and let me just live my life the way which is 'comfortable' for me!" Oh, and when God gets out of that box we start feeling convicted and get offended because we don't like it. We feel awkward. We want to flow along with this world, thinking, "they do it, it's o.k!" If we want to be reformers, then we can't be conformers! And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

When I get persecuted from friends, or family I realize it is actually a blessing from God. This is his way of seeing if I'm really serious. And believe me, there has been times where I didn't listen to God and when sin knocks on my door, I did take it. When trials arise we shouldn't be mad, blaming God for it, instead rejoice! My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; James 1:2

I know this sounds easier said than done, but persecutions from others only bring us closer to Christ when we accept it with gladness, and not with hatred and wanting to just go with the flow just because it feels good! Feeling good isn't the answer, we need to walk the way with Christ, and go 100%, not even 99.9%, because that means, just one tiny little percent is not with Christ. He expects our VERY best, and why not give it all to him. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:26
If you can answer this question and feel free without any guilt then go ahead and write me a comment. What do you gain from living in the world?

THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION we make in this life is where we’ll spend our eternal life. When we have made that choice, we’re not only prepared to die...we’re finally ready to live!
